In this activity, experts in management of rheumatoid arthritis discuss the importance of early, aggressive management of rheumatoid arthritis. Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to: Incorporate treatment with biological DMARDs early in the course of RA not only to control symptoms but also to prevent disease progression and minimize joint damage Apply appropriate sequencing of therapy in cases of inadequate response to initial treatment with DMARDs Assess tolerability and safety of biological DMARDs, especially risks of developing infections and malignancies Use objective measurements to evaluate patients with RA and provide timely referral to rheumatologists
